Things are looking up already

So today, I let myself into my ridiculous temporary apartment building right in front of this guy. We exchanged slight pleasantries (nods, maybe a hi), and went on our separate ways. Half an hour later, someone knocks on my door while I am watching Celebrity Masterchef on BBC One (side note: I am obsessed. My money is on Midge Ure to win tomorrow night.) When I go to answer, there is no one left out in the hallway, but there is a note slid under the door.
Yes, you heard me right. A note. Hilarious.
Anyway, I will scan it and post it when I get to work tomorrow. But for the moment, here's the text:
"If you like, you can write me a SMS. I was the guy, which you see at the entry 20 min ago."
followed by a phone number with country code 49 (Germany).
Few notes to think about if you want to go for the note under the door approach to pick up lines:
1) Make sure the person actually paid attention to you long enough to know whether he or she would want to SMS you.
2) Think about the fact that you might just freak the recipient of the note out that you were paying such close attention to where he or she lives.
3) Maybe leave a name?
Anyway, I have no plans to SMS German guy, but still, totally amusing. And a huge step up from this weekend, eh?

Song of the Day: High Times, Elliott Smith (From the new album, New Moon - even his rejects are wonderful. He is sorely missed.)
